21 days in TAMIL NADU

I spent most of October in Tamil Nadu, India, celebrating Navaratri, festival of the Divine Mother (Durga Shakti). We were based at the foot of Arunachala holy mountain, one of the five most sacred places in India. A last minute trip, yet this turned out to be my most memorable life experience to date – Tamil Nadu is magical and the people are extraordinary. Freestyle Indian ink work, digitally remastered in kaleidoscope style to create this mandala illustration. The mandala is a geometric design representing the universe, a symbol of metaphysical union – the form demonstrates balance and a centre point within a circle. ℘
