HOLY ISLE

I seem to be having an unprecedented number of life-changing experiences of late, my Christmas on the Holy Isle is one of them – it’s not called the Holy Isle by chance. Last autumn, my life went into reverse gear, or so I thought. Turns out it was more of a re-boot. Nevertheless, it was time to get out of dodge. So I followed up on a friend’s recommendation and stayed at the Holy Isle, off the coast of Arran, for two weeks over the holidays. I knew I was in for an interesting ride when the golden eye of Horus appeared while queuing for the Brodick ferry at Ardrossan. The Holy Isle experience is not one that can be put into words, at least not by me – what I can say is that I’m definitely going back, and anyone that has been will know what I’m talking about. If you choose to go, you will be in excellent company, previously visited by highly esteemed creatives from David Bowie to Will Self. Tell Rinchen I said Hi!
