MILINKOVIC

JESUS BOX

Photographed in a Budapest back street…

this image has great abstract appeal, from a geometric perspective, as well as the worn aspects of peeling paint and the bent out shape metal construction. The cross is possibly one of the world’s most iconic symbols, representing faith, sacrifice, love & the potential of rebirth, among many other concepts – but what I love most about this image is the almost perfectly geometric cross in a battered box, which offers so many metaphors for the state of religion today, and perhaps what it has inflicted upon itself.
